Kinja'd!!!

In a democracy, in this democracy, you are given the right to, as was earned in blood and lives, to endorse and vote for any candidate you wish in the free elections of the country.

Some of you may already know where I’m going with this. I’m going to briefly talk about Brian Frances’ endorsement of Donald Trump for President.

I have no problem with him doing so, it is the right of evey citizen as I said. The backlash has proven to be an interesting onslaught so far and that is where I have my problem today.

No, not with those who have openly questioned the endorsement and not in the manner is which they have done so. No, it’s the defense put up by Mr France that has me upset.

Nascars’ earlier decision to cut ties with Mr Trump was a brave one and worthy of praise. The pressure exerted on the organization by a portion of it’s fans must have been tremendous and one that came with certain sacrifices.

To politely say that some of Nascars fans are rednecks is quaint and very southerly of me. But let’s be honest: some of them are dixie flag waving racists! Plain and simple, to be plain spoken so some of you can understand.

I do not hold Nascar responsible for it’s fans behavior, minus the alcohol served at stadiums, nor their political and social views. Nascar itself is not a racist, white supremacist organization, not at all!

However, if the head of Nascar, Brian France, wants to publicly endorse a man who most certainly has espoused racist language and ideas to further his bid to be president, then do not expect me to divorce the organization from it’s leader and his endorsement: or those of the past and present drivers who spoke at the rally and pledged their endorsement as well.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

“Needless to say, with any candidate that one may endorse, there are many positions or policies that run counter to your beliefs, as is the case here with me. This is my personal and not a corporate position.” Brian France, email to employees.

Mr France, you cannot have your cake and eat it to!

I don’t really think criticizing Trump for “racism” is worthwhile. He may or may not be racist himself, but I’m inclined to think he isn’t , for the following reason: If there is anything in Trump’s worldview that could be called the “ other ,” that which is to be stripped of dignity and objectified, the distinction is not based on race, but rather the fact that the other is not Donald Trump . He objectifies, degrades, and uses everyone and everything that is not him. This includes his episodes of vacuous flattery to various groups of varying races, and to those holding various racial attitudes and philosophies, acceptable or not. He does not “buy in” with any of them ideologically, except to the extent that they advance his own will.

These NASCAR fans are super predators. No conscience, no empathy, we can talk about why they ended up that way, but first we have to bring them to heel.

Very good sir are you are in very rare company as most do not get that. I too do not believe that Mr. Trump is a prototypical racist: it does however, not excuse him from his words, actions and in-actions.

Why didn’t Mr Trump take the opportunity to disavow the endorsement of David Duke and the KKK when he had the chance? Numbers. Numbers is your answer.

Mr Trump calculated that with the votes he gets from less than reputable and ethically above board people and groups, he can march to the nomination.

Disavow and dismiss those votes, those numbers, and he could have a more difficult time. The problem as I see it, those votes arent’ as big a block as he or we think and the damage done by his in-action could cost him dearly in the general.

So Mr Trump may not be a racist, but for ‘cozying’ up to them for some votes may cost him more in the long run, and it should. Anyone willing to dissolve their moral and ethical base, either for short or long term gain is simply not worthy of the job of President of the United States.

Google it. (The part after the NASCAR sentence)

Spoiler alert: not a Trump quote.

Are you referring to the ‘super predator’ quote credited to Hillary Clinton? What does that have to do with what I wrote? Is this what you mean?
